Saying those words are examples of crimes in Israelite law. Thinking those words is a crime to our Heavenly Father.

What matters to him is obedience to his laws.

If a verbal crime is committed by a family, casual, or intimate relationship?

Do you deal with the crime without elders (investigators in Israelite law) involved?

Or do you report the crime to them?

Suppose the crime warrants an investigation. The person could confess their guilt and face the judges and priest.

If the person doesn’t confess, there would have to be at least two witnesses that could testify against them.

Grievances can get to the point where people around them tire of animosity. They report the crime and testify in court to bring peace to the relationships.

There are judgments in the law separate from crimes judges and priests can use in verbal abuse cases. In other laws, like the one above, there is a judgment already in place.

When there is no death penalty, the judge should order counseling. So the guilty can learn self-love and forgiveness skills.

They learn those skills from our priests or the priests’ ministers (helpers) in the tribe of Levi.

Why learn self-love skills?

The first law in this post commands them to love their neighbor as they love themselves.

Prolonged anger and hatred hurt the person experiencing it the most. Psychology Today wrote about the effects of anger on the body.

Conclusion

We use the legal system to reduce the use of verbal abuse before it spirals out of control. Even in America, we can use these standards to promote peace in our households and community.

What do you think about how we reduce verbal abuse?

We do not support breaking any laws of the government where our people live. Our people can keep some Israelite laws, statutes, commandments, and judgments no matter where we live.
